Good Dog Vs. Halo's Heroes Doodles Directly

When you find your dream puppy, the journey to bringing them home should be simple and transparent. However, where you choose to complete your transaction makes a massive difference in what you actually pay.

The Good Dog Checkout Journey

Imagine you locate your future puppy listed at $2,220.00. When you check out through Good Dog, the platform adds several mandatory layers of fees on top of the base price:

1. Protection & Support Fees: Good Dog adds a buyer coverage fee—in this example, $125.00.

2. Platform Payment Processing Fees: They apply additional payment processing surcharges (such as credit card fees), adding $73.26.

3. Double-Taxing Surcharges: Instead of calculating state sales tax solely on the puppy, Texas state sales tax ($0.0825%) is applied to the entire combined total. You pay tax on the puppy ($2,220.00), tax on the protection fee ($125.00), and tax on the processing fee ($73.26), driving the tax up to $202.95.

4. Platform Seller Fees: On top of what you pay as the buyer, Good Dog charges the breeder an additional $139.75 (6.5% of the listed price).

When the transaction is complete, your final checkout total reaches $2,621.21—adding over $350 in extra platform costs and fees to your purchase.
